ROCHESTER - Brian J. Labrecque, 45, of Rochester, died Thursday, Feb. 4, 2021 at the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital due complications from a four year battle with lung cancer. He was born Dec. 4, 1975, and was a Dover kid his entire life. He's the son of Robert and Cynthia (Pinkham) Labrecque and has resided in the Seacoast forever, with occasional trips to Florida for some R&R.
Brian had worked for the State of New Hampshire DOT, mostly working on the Memorial Bridge - both the old and the new - and was recently promoted to Operator, which in bridge speak is kind of the boss.
He was an avid fisherman, NRA member and UFC fanatic. If he wasn't fishing the rez with Mike he was out shooting around the ol' Dover dump, getting ready to fish. Otherwise he was generally watching anything fight or firearms-related he could get his hands on. Of particular interest to him was the UFC, which he generally enjoyed from the first few rows of the VIP section.
Brian was the kind of person you'd hope to meet in your life. Because he was a good, pure and honest human that would drive anywhere and do anything to help out a friend or acquaintance.
He talked REAL loud, too. Always sounded like he was mad. He wasn't. He's just loud. And passionate. Brian spoke with extreme passion about everything he cared. Especially his friends. We'd all do well to be more like him.
Members of his family include his brothers, Thomas (TJ) Obrey, Jr., Robert M. Day and Richard A. Day and his sister, Tracy Day, also Dover kids and general Seacoast area residents; there are of course several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his mother, Cynthia Ann (Pinkham) Toland.
