ROCHESTER - A single car crash into an Eastern Avenue utility pole resulted in the road's closure on Tuesday.

The accident occurred around 3:20 p.m. near Fieldstone Village when a 2002 Audi A4 being operated by Derik Bracket-Cormier, 39, of Rochester, was traveling southbound on Eastern Avenue when it went off the road and struck the pole, causing it to break.

As a result of the collision several guy wires fell into the road and the road was temporarily shut down. Fire personnel were able to cut the wires and the roadway was opened a short time later.

Due to the collision, the Audi was towed from the scene.

The accident remains under investigation. If anyone has any information regarding the incident they are asked to call Officer Justin Worthley at the Rochester Police Department

Bracket-Cormier was evaluated by EMS but not transported to the hospital.
