DOVER - Carolyn A. (McShane) Reilly, 90, died on July 26, 2021 at Harmony Homes by the Bay. Carolyn (Cal) was born September 22, 1930 to James D. McShane, Sr. and Doris (Lockwood) McShane. Born and raised in Dover, and a Dover High School alum, Cal went on to train at The Boston Floating Hospital for Pediatric Nursing and graduated from The Wentworth Hospital's School of Nursing as an RN in 1951. She then began her career at Wentworth Hospital, now known as Wentworth Douglass Hospital, in Obstetrics, the Maternity Ward, for over 40 years. She was the first to hold many of the Reilly and McShane families' babies.

Cal married the love of her life and high school classmate Edward (Pal) Reilly, Jr. on July 11, 1953 after Pal returned from the Korean War. They made their lifelong home on Crescent Ave. in Dover and had two children, Lee-Anne and Edward (Ted). Cal was an avid Boston sports fan, often traveling to the Boston Garden to watch Bill Russell and John Havlicek and cheering on the Red Sox, Bruins, and Patriots with Pal by her side. She remembered a limitless amount of sports trivia and loved summers at Wells Beach with her family. She was often, if not always, the life of the party - making jokes, dancing while Nana played the piano, and making up songs for her grandchildren and great grandchild. When you would leave Crescent Ave., she was always waving from her porch until you were out of sight.

Survivors: Daughter Lee-Anne Sanfacon and husband Louis of Rochester, and Daughter-in-Law Sheila Reilly of Rollinsford.

Two Granddaughters she cherished so much (who called her Gibby): Kaitlyn Reilly of Washington, DC and Megan Sanfacon and her fiancé Tyler Poisson of Quincy, Mass.

One Great Granddaughter who was the apple of her eye, Teagan Lee Poisson of Quincy, and unforgettable nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and neighbors.

She was predeceased by her husband Edward (Pal) Reilly in September 2015, brother James D. McShane, Jr. in August 2015 and wife Jeannie in January 2017, and son Edward F. (Ted) Reilly III in April 2018.
