ROCHESTER - Catherine Wentworth, 96, died on Sunday, October 28, 2018, at the Rochester Manor Nursing Home. She was born on December 20, 1921 in West Lebanon, Maine.
Catherine attended Lebanon Academy in West Lebanon, Maine. She graduated from the New England Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in Boston as a registered nurse in 1943. After graduation, Catherine worked in the operating room at the New England Baptist Hospital in Boston, Mass. She later worked at Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester as a nurse supervisor from 1960-1977.
Catherine married Harold Wentworth in June 1948, and they made their home in East Rochester for many years. She is survived by three children, Martha Lavigne of Barrington, David of Rochester, and Scott of Bradenton, Fla.
They enjoyed camping in their younger days with their children, and in later years did a lot of world travel, mostly on cruise ships. Her husband Harold died in 2010 after sharing 62 years together. They had five grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Eastern Star. After her husband's death in 2010, she made her home in Bradenton, Fla., with her son Scott.
