ROCHESTER - Celia Hashem Hurley, 101 died on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at the Rochester Manor. She was born July 25, 1919, in Dover, the daughter of Elias Khoury and Mary (Peters) Hashem.
Celia owned and operated the Silhouette Slenderizing Salon, was leader of the Dover Soup Kitchen and a member of Friends of the Dover Public Library. She was a communicant of St. Mary Catholic Church, Rollinsford.

Members of her family include her daughter, Donna H. Royer of Dover; her son James J. Hurley, III and his wife Judy of Durham; grandsons James J. Hurley, IV and Cameron Khoury Hurley; and her sister, Lena Clark.
She was predeceased by her husband, James J. Hurley, Jr., her son-in-law Thomas C. Royer and her sister Mary George.
