Chamber announces four $500 scholarship recipients

ROCHESTER - The Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce announced recently this year's scholarship recipients. The Chamber awarded each student a $500 scholarship towards their future academic endeavors. They include:

Hannah Bamford, a graduate of Spaulding High School, plans to attend the University of Maine to pursue a degree in Engineering.

Sarah Dupuis, recently graduated from Coe-Brown Northwood Academy, will be attending Sacred Heart University to pursue a degree in Nursing.

Willliam Stewart Alexander Rodman, a graduate of York High School, will be attending the University of Missouri to pursue a degree in Health Sciences.

Lauren Scheffer, a graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School, will be attending the University of New Hampshire to pursue a degree in Occupational Therapy.

Chamber Member businesses were given the opportunity to become Chamber Scholarship Champions by donating towards the Chamber Scholarship Fund enabling the Chamber to provide scholarships annually to graduating high school seniors. The Chamber wishes to recognize and thank the following Member businesses that contributed to the Chamber Scholarship Fund.

Richard Energy, Edward Jones-Chris Hooper, Federal Savings Bank, Frisbie Memorial Hospital, Granite State College, Granite Steak & Grill, Hagan's Motor Pool, Healey Auto Repair, Independence Financial Advisors, John C. Pratt Co., Keystone Dental Arts, Laars Heating Systems Company, Lachapelle & Higgins Insurance, Lilac City Parks & Sales, Lydall Performance Materials, MLC Catering, LLC, Motolina Lodge IOOF #18, R.M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, SCORE-Seacoast, The Gafney Home, True Marketing Communication, Urban Tree Service and Wit-Way Supply.

Each year, a Scholarship Selection Committee reviews the scholarship applications submitted. Students eligible for the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce scholarship must be graduating seniors in high school who are either employed by or have a parent employed by a company that is a member of the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce. The scholarship is awarded and payable to the institution in the second year of attending a full-time college, university or technical school.
