ROCHESTER - Charles E. Karcher Sr., 91, of 7 Florence Dr., died Saturday, April 23, 2016, at his home surrounded by family. Born November 25, 1924, in Henniker, he was the son of Martha (Wilfert) and William A. Karcher, Sr.
Charlie was a proud WWII veteran, who served in the Army as a light machine gunner in Company G 26th Infantry Regiment. For 35 years he was a paper mill manager at Spaulding Fiber Co. in North Rochester.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Marion T. (Randall) Karcher; two daughters, Jerry Nickless of Rochester and Cheryl Harmon of Zephyrhills, Fla.; a son, Charles E. Karcher, Jr., of Zephyrhills, Fla.; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. All twelve of his siblings predeceased him.
