ROCHESTER - Charles "Sammy" Dagon, 97, of 72 Royal Crest Mobile Home Park, died Friday, February 24, 2017, at his home. He was born November 9, 1919, in South Berwick, Maine, the son of the late Samuel and Anni-Marie Plourde. He has resided in Rochester for the past 35 years, previously living in Dover, N.H.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Sonny worked at the PNSY as a welder, previously working in the lasting room at South Berwick Shoe and being a sulky racer in Rochester. He enjoyed training and riding his horse at the Rochester Fairgrounds and all over N.H., and Maine.
Members of his family include his wife, Althea (Stackpole) Dagon; stepchildren, Janice Rousselle, Joseph Rousselle, Sylvia Langley, and Jay Howard; sister-in-law, Sylvia Miller and several nieces and nephews in South Carolina. He was predeceased by sisters, Rose Miller and Theresa Cunningham and stepdaughter, Janet Morest.
