BARRINGTON - Chester (Chet) A. Cole of Barrington died on March 9, 2023, at Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester at the age of 76.

Chet was born in Lynn, Mass., on Dec. 31, 1946, to Robert F. Cole Sr. and Mildred Cole. Chet grew up in Lynn, Mass., and spent his summers as a child on Little Neck in Ipswich, Mass., with his family. Chet was a graduate of Lynn English High School, Class of 1964 and a Navy veteran who served on the USS Richard S. Edwards as Gunner's Mate 3rd class. Before and after his service in the Navy he worked for General Electric Company of Lynn, and Somersworth, until his retirement in 2010 after 45 years. He met his wife Linda Cole (Coviello) in Lynn, and they married in 1977. Chet and Linda moved to Lee in 1980 and then to Barrington in 2018. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and gardener.

Chet is survived by his wife of 45 years, Linda Cole, daughters Shannon Cole of Barrington, and Katelyn Cole of Lynn, brother Robert Cole Jr. of Salem Mass., father-in-law Richard Coviello Sr of Lynn, brother-in-law Richard Coviello Jr. of Lynn, brother-law Danny Coviello and his wife Maureen of Effingham, Michael Coviello and his wife Valerie of Effingham, sister-in-law Sandra Manoogian and husband Peter of Saugus, Mass., sister-in-law Sharon Coviello of Lynn, sister-in-law Terry McCarthy and husband Joe of Saugus, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and several close friends.

He is preceded by his father Robert F. Cole Sr., mother Mildred Cole, sister-in-law Geraldine Cole, and mother-in-law Eleanor Coviello.
