EAST ROCHESTER - Chester A. Moulton, 89, of 63 Crow Hill Road died Monday, March 9, 2015, at Frisbie Memorial Hospital, surrounded by loving family.
Born July 12, 1925, in Farmington, N.H., he was the son of the late Chester and Theresa May (Carpenter) Moulton.
Chester, a World War II veteran, devoted much of his time to the East Rochester community. He was a very active member of Bethany United Methodist Church, a trustee of the E. Rochester Library and President of the East Rochester Baseball and Athletic Association. Chester had played baseball in many leagues in Rochester through the 1950s and could often be found working at Keay Field. In his free time he enjoyed woodworking, fishing and annual vacations with family "at the lake."
He was the widow of Phyllis Moulton who died in 1981 and Alice (Curran) Moulton. He is survived by daughter, Dorothy and husband John McLain of Raymond, NH; grandchildren, Joshua McLain and wife Jennifer of Rochester, and Scott McLain and wife Crystal of New Durham; great grandchildren, Connor, Camden, Chloe McLain and his siblings Harry, Gloria, Shirley, Robert, Richard and Rodney, as well as stepdaughter's Jean, Donna and Carol. He was predeceased by infant son, Buddy Allen and his siblings Barbara, Doris, and Harold.
