On Saturday, February 17 from 10am to 11:30am we will be hosting the Moose Mountain Seed Savers and their Winter Seed Sowing Event. Perennial seeds and a milk jug planter will be provided FREE to all attendees. From the Moose Mountain Seed Savers: "Winter sowing is a seed-starting technique where seeds of certain perennial vegetables, flowers and herbs are started outdoors in containers in late autumn or winter. The cold weather stratifies the seeds and prompts germination when the time is right. Many native perennials require stratification, as the treatment uses temperature and moisture to soften the seed coat and break the seed dormancy. Winter sowing is an easy technique and results in healthy, strong seedlings." Please join us for this interesting and informative event!
We also have Children's Story Time every Thursday at 10am, weather permitting and the upstairs playroom is always available during library hours. Please check Facebook for weather delays or closures.
