ROCHESTER - Christine Brewster, 79, of Rochester died on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2022, at Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford, Maine, after a period of failing health.

She was born June 11, 1943 in Brooklyn, N.Y., the daughter of Edward and Helen (Frazer) Schalk. Christine had resided in Rochester for the past 53 years previously living in Portsmouth. She was a registered nurse. During her early career she worked at Portsmouth Hospital and Frisbie Memorial Hospital. In later years she worked as an occupational health nurse in industry including Pratt & Whitney in North Berwick, Maine, National Sea Products in Portsmouth, and COEH (Center for Occupational & Employee Health) in Exeter. Most recently she worked as an RN at Langdon Place of Dover. Chris was an avid knitter and loved traveling throughout the United States including Alaska and Hawaii. She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.

Members of her family include her loving husband of 58 years, Robert A. Brewster Sr.; son Robert A. Brewster, Jr., his wife Christine and their children Ashleigh V. Brewster and Robert A. "Bobby" Brewster, III; daughter in-law Faye Brewster and her son Geoffrey T. Brewster, Jr; sister Elizabeth "Betsy" Schnebli; brother Edward Schalk; brother-in-law Charles Brewster and his wife Betty, sister-in-law Janet Pecunies and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by their son Geoffrey T. Brewster, Sr. and her brother Roy Schalk.
