City Council set to vote on two new school board members to fill vacancies

ROCHESTER - The City Council on Tuesday declared the Ward 4/Seat B and the Ward 5/Seat A School Board positions vacant, following the resignation of two members.

The move paves the way for the City Council to elect two new members who will serve until the next election cycle.

City officials are asking any registered voter of Ward 4 or Ward 5 interested in serving on the School Board to submit a Statement of Interest form by 9 a.m. on Aug. 19. The form is available online and in the City Clerk's Office.

Qualified candidates will be invited to interview during the City Council Workshop meeting on Aug. 19. They will also be able to address Rochester residents and members of the Council.

Finally on Sept. 2 City Council will vote to appoint the two new members.
