ROCHESTER - A Rochester man released on PR bail in a car theft case early Sunday morning was arrested in the afternoon on a slew of charges stemming from his pounding on random doors in the downtown.

Adam Freeman, 25, of 100 Rochester Hill Road, #E1, was first arrested around 4:35 a.m. after police got a call for a suspicious car in the parking lot of Willowbrook Apartments on Lowell Street. The caller told police there were people in the vehicle with the interior light on.

When officers arrived they found Freeman and 22-year-old Rhiannon Cooper-Boisvert, a city transient, in the back of the vehicle, where they appeared to be staying, Rochester Police Capt. Todd Pinkham said on Monday.

Officers determined the registration plate on the vehicle did not match the vehicle or the occupants and that the vehicle came back as stolen from the Okie Dokie Dealership on Flat Rock Bridge Road on Saturday.

Freeman was charged with receiving stolen property and released on personal recognizance, while Cooper-Boisvert, was arrested on a Capias warrant and released on an unreleased amount of cash bail.

Just hours later around 2 p.m. police responded to nearby Wakefield Street in the area of Ben Franklin Crafts and Tri-City Towing for a suspicious male that was seen banging on doors in the area.

Police arrived to find Freeman, who bolted when police approached him. After a brief chase Freeman was caught, arrested and charged with criminal trespass, loitering/prowling, contempt, for violating his bail conditions from earlier in the morning; resisting arrest/detention x 2 for running from officers and resisting being handcuffed; criminal mischief for spitting in the back of the cruiser, and obstructing government administration for refusing to provide his name, date of birth or any other personal information during the investigation and lastly, for a violation level offense for not utilizing easily accessible crosswalks.

Freeman is currently being held at the Strafford County Jail on a no bail pending his arraignment.
