ROCHESTER - Police say they have arrested a Rochester man responsible for a series of vandalism incidents last year.

Dylan M. Williams, 23, of 69 Congress St., is alleged to have committed the criminal mischief at the Rochester Police Department, twice at the Commons and on the Pines footbridge during a period from April to November.

Ironically, Williams is alleged to have spray painted the word "vandal" in all the incidents, accompanied by the spray-painted image of an eye.

After a months-long probe, Rochester Police were recently able to identify Williams as the suspect, and arrest warrants were issued on April 9.

Williams was spotted walking on Norway Plains Road and arrested without incident on Tuesday around 7 p.m.

He was bailed on personal recognizance and is scheduled for arraignment next month at Rochester 7th Circuit Court.

Even though Williams was responsible for additional vandalism incidents, he could not be charged due to the statute of limitations.

All of the incidents he was charged with are misdemeanors punishable by a stiff fine but no jail time.
