ROCHESTER - A Rochester man was arrested as a habitual offender on Friday after the car he was driving crossed the center line and collided with a dump truck on Gonic Road.

The crash occurred a little before 2 p.m. near the intersection of Gear Road when police say Joshua Lapierre, 32, was headed northbound in a 2010 Kia when his vehicle crossed into the opposite lane and and struck the southbound 2010 Peterbilt dump truck driven by Gary Musler, 55, of Barrington.

Musler was taken to Frisbie Memorial Hospital with what were described as nonlife-threatening injuries.

Lapierre was arrested at the scene for operating a vehicle while being deemed a habitual offender.

The southbound lane was closed while the scene was investigated with northbound traffic rerouted down Gear Road.

A member of Troop G of the NH State Police responded to assist with the investigation as it involved a commercial motor vehicle.
