ROCHESTER - A Rochester teenager was charged with assault earlier this month after he struck a male in the face with a rock and threatened to shoot him, police say.
Jaden Brown, 18, of Rochester, was arrested on Jan. 4 after police responded to the area of 30 Main St. around 2:45 p.m. for a report of a male without a shirt who was outside yelling and swearing. It was also reported that there was a male with a facial injury, and that one of the males had a rock and gun, Rochester Police Capt. Todd Pinkham said on Friday.
"Police arrived on scene and were able to locate and speak with those involved in the dispute, Pinkham said. "Police did locate a male with minor facial injuries to the cheek. It was also learned the male was struck in the face by another male who had a rock in his hand."
Pinkham said Brown was also found to have a gun on him and had threatened to shoot the other male, however the gun was never actually used during the incident.
Police later located the gun, which turned out to be a BB-gun.
Brown was charged with second degree assault, criminal threatening and simple assault. He is set to be arraigned on Feb. 6 in Rochester District Court.
