City transient arrested in trio of bank robberies in past month

ROCHESTER - A city transient was arrested on Tuesday in three recent bank robberies.

Christopher Kelly, 44, was charged with three counts of robbery in connection with two Citizen Bank heists at its Lilac Mall Hannaford branch on Sept. 11 and Sept. 21 and a third at their branch bank at 1 North Main St on Oct. 9.

The arrest came after receiving tips from the public, assistance from Wolfeboro Police and other information and evidence obtained during the investigations, according to police.

Kelly was held without bail pending an arraignment.
