ROCHESTER - A city woman wanted on drug possession charges was arrested on Tuesday.

Jamie Lee Stockford, 36, with a last known address of 43 River St., Apt. 2, was picked up around 12:30 p.m. on a warrant stemming from an Aug. 27 incident in Rochester.

Stockford was originally arrested on Aug. 27 for possession of illegal prescription drugs after police reported to a disturbance at 216 Salmon Falls Road for a report of a fight between four females.

When police arrived the suspects had left but Stockford was located nearby. Police found the prescriptions drugs on her as well as an unidentified substance that was sent to a state lab for testing, Rochester Police Capt. Gary Boudreau said earlier this week.

That substance was later found to be meth, he said, prompting police to file the warrant for her arrest on the methamphetamine possession charge.

Stockford was charged with felony possession of a controlled drug, released on personal recognizance bail and given a February arraignment date.
