ROCHESTER - Clarence R. Lindsey Jr. (Pudgy), 76 of Rochester, died on Wednesday Sept. 13, 2023, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital. He was born on Dec. 28, 1946, in Beverly, Mass.

He worked as a master electrician, plumber, HVAC technician and builder for all of his life. He also worked for NH Builders and Olde Madbury Lane Apartments in Dover for many years with Patrick Cragin.

He also enjoyed working on old cars with his friend David Jacques.

He loved to spend time with his good friend Randy Stevens at his garage playing corn hole, he loved him like a brother.

He raced homing pigeons with his daughter Ella out of Northeast Concourse Racing Club.

He loved to play bingo, poker and gamble in his free time. He became a member of The Victory Club in Rochester and that was a fun time for him this past year.

He loved to tell stories of his life, tell jokes and make others laugh. He enjoyed having cookouts with his family and going yard-saling every Saturday.

He loved his old music and loved playing trivia with his kids and if they remembered the lyrics, they would win money.

He had a stray cat that lived outside for years, he was finally able to get it to come to him and brought it inside. He loved that cat so much. He loved all animals.

He loved his family and his friends and would help anyone in need. He was the glue that held his family together. He went without to make sure his family was always taken care of. Family was everything to him.

He is predeceased by his parents Clarence and Ella (Butman) Lindsey of Beverly.

His brothers Benjamin and Francis Lindsey of Beverly, Massachusetts. His sisters Roberta (Vacoro) Lindsey of Beverly. Pearl and her husband Robert Marcheterre of Beverly. Mabel and her Rodger Ward of Kingston. Nancy and her husband Richard Olson of Canaan, Maine. Patricia (TC) Lindsey of Beverly.

And many more nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is survived by the love of his life his wife Leona Lindsey of Rochester. They were married for 47 years.

His daughters Ella Lindsey, Christine Lindsey, Beverly and her husband Ronald Stokes, and Alice Lindsey all of Rochester. His son Charles Lindsey of Rochester, NH.

His grandchildren Ashley Feeney, Shalynn Skipper, Scott Skipper Jr, Ronald Stokes Jr, Andrew Stokes, and Matthew Stokes all of Rochester.

His nephew Benjamin Lindsey and his wife Terri of Rochester. His nephew Stevie Ward and his wife Kristina of Kingsland, Ga. Also, many more nieces, nephews and cousins.
