Coordinated law enforcement effort results in slew of arrests in one day

ROCHESTER - Police on Tuesday made 16 arrests and more than 100 traffic/bicycle/pedestrian stops during an afternoon and evening of proactive policing.
The effort was carried out with the cooperation and coordination of New Hampshire State Police and Probation/Parole, Rochester Police Capt. Todd Pinkham said today.
The roundup began around 4 p.m. with a Gonic man being booked on a slew of charges including three capiases and four EBWs, and ended shortly before 11 p.m., according to Tuesday's police activity log.
Beside the bench warrants, Joshua M. Belisle, of 15 Patriots Way, Gonic, was also charged with five counts of receiving stolen property, two counts of felon in possession, one count of hand guns armed career criminal, two counts of theft by deception, drug possession, two counts of contempt, receiving stolen property: stolen firearm; two counts of receiving stolen property and one count of theft of lost/mislaid property.
Most of those arrested were bailed and released, but Belisle remains at Strafford County House of Correction, a jail spokesman said today.
Pinkham said a more detailed press release will be issued on Monday.
