To the people of Rochester:

My name is Steve Beaudoin. I am a lifelong resident of Rochester with family roots in New Hampshire dating back 100s of years.

During my lifetime in Rochester, I worked for decades in the 3rd generation family heating oil business prior to forming my own successful plumbing and heating business. After my retirement 10 years ago, I served four terms as a NH State Representative working in the House Executive Departments and Administration Committee.

The ED&A committee is a very diverse body with responsibility for approval of rules and policy for all state agencies, oversight of the NH retirement system, approval of life safety and building codes and much more.

One of my legislative campaign promises was to reign in out of control state agencies. I kept that promise by drafting and passing legislation to bring better checks and balances to adoption of our life safety and building codes. For the first time, in this current legislative session, all code changes will undergo a thorough and complete vetting process that weighs the costs and benefits of every change before they are enacted.

I am running for Rochester City Council Ward 2. I believe my past successful business experience, my 8 years of service in the NH State House, and my no nonsense approach will serve you well on the City Council.

There's a distinct lack of interaction on the council's part with our citizens that goes along with behind closed door deals and overpriced real estate purchases. We are funding direct taxpayer subsidies along with tax abatements to multi million dollar corporations. Both our police and fire departments are not properly staffed or equipped and we are suffering from an out of control homeless problem.

It's time for City Hall to embrace a higher level of transparency with more council interaction and accountability to the citizenry.

Please support me on November 2nd.

- Steve Beaudoin,

City council Ward 2 seat A candidate
