ROCHESTER - A Rochester man and woman were injured early Sunday morning when their car left the roadway of Old Dover Road and struck a utility pole knocking out power to area residents for several hours.

The single-car crash occurred around 3:25 a.m. when police say a blue 2005 Toyota Scion being driven by Jacob John Parlin, 36, lost control, left the roadway and struck a utility pole.

The downed pole left nearby residents without power for about eight hours.

Parlin and a passenger in the car, Megan Robichaud, 19, both received what were described as nonlife-threatening injuries and were transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital for evaluation.

No charges were expected to be filed as a result of the accident.
