Darlene Whalen ... grew up in Rochester; at 61

LYMAN, Maine - Darlene Denise Whalen, 61, of Lyman, died peacefully on Aug. 23, 2022, surrounded by many of her loved ones.

Darlene was born on May 25, 1961, in Rochester, N.H., where she attended Spaulding High School. Darlene relocated to Acton in 1989 where she obtained her CNA license and volunteered with Acton fire and rescue while working at Acton Trading Post where she worked for 17 years. Darlene then went on to work at Dayton Country Store for the remainder of her employment. Anyone who knew her will remember her by her contagious smile and her positive outlook on life. Darlene enjoyed gardening, animals, hunting, arts and crafts, camping, playing cards, dice, scrabble and her Harley adventures with Dubba.

Members of her family include her father Charles Whalen; her Children Nicholle, Jessica and Bert; her siblings Laurie Harrison, Deborah Long, Lynn Chicone, Dino Leonardi and Keith Whalen; The entire Leonardi family (The original Brady Bunch). She is predeceased by her grandmother Elaine Shaw, Mother Sally Shaw, granddaughter Sydnee Dilboy as well as fur baby Abby Neilson.
