David A. Dalton Sr., 78, died on Dec. 11, 2023, in Dover, with his wife of 54 years, Janet, by his side. He was born Apr. 4, 1945, in Beverly Mass., the sixth child of Richard and Lillian (Leighton) Dalton.

He is predeceased by his parents and brothers Kenneth Dalton, Richard "Butch" Dalton, and Stephen J. Dalton. As well as sisters Susan (Dalton) Sullo, and Diane (Dalton) Minasian. Also, his stepson Shawn Clarke.

He is survived by his wife Janet (Ferguson) Dalton of Somersworth. His sister Shiela (Dalton) Bryson of Lynn, Mass. And his children David A. Dalton Jr. of Blain, Wash., Mark and Kathryn Dalton of Spring Lake, N.C., Robin M. Dalton of Pennsylvania, Jason and Christine Dalton of Rowley, Mass., April (Dalton) and Thom Coberly of Alton stepdaughter Kimberly (Clarke) and Doug Gallant of Lynn, Mass., 22 Grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He had been employed by LeMay Construction.

David worked in construction most of his adult life in one form or another. He enjoyed working in his yard and making bird feeders, watching sports, spaghetti westerns, riding his motorcycle, and most of all being with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He also loved his (Actually April and Thom's) dog Lola. One special thing David took pride in was his Christmas Village that he built up over time and displayed every year. It was so large it took up the entire front room of their home.
