SOMERSWORTH - David F. West, 66, of Somersworth, died unexpectedly on Saturday, December 5, 2020. Born in Tarrytown, N.Y., Dave was raised in Dover and after marrying his high school sweetheart, moved to Barrington to raise his young family. Later in adulthood Dave moved back to the Dover Tri-town area where he remained for the duration of his life. He worked hard for many years in the propane gas industry.
An avid reader, Dave was rarely spotted without a paperback novel in his hand, or in his pocket. As a creature of habit he could frequently be found at his favorite local breakfast or lunch spots where he was well known by face, if not by name. Dave was a man of few words, but with a kind heart and a desire to help others. He was a friend of Bill W. and found peace in helping others through their journeys. He had many hobbies and interests, including marksmanship, and was always tinkering and planning his next project.
Dave is survived by his children Amy Barchey and Jason West, and grandchildren Tristan, Jayla, Jack, and Lily Mae; his brother Jonathan West and sister Rachel Tipton, their families; and his devoted father, Franklin West, of Dover.
He will be dearly missed by all.
