Death of 5-year-old Laconia boy caused by blunt force trauma to head: autopsy

CONCORD - The Attorney General's Office announced today that the Christmas Eve death of a five-year-old Laconia boy was the result of homicide.

When Police arrived at 103 Blueberry Lane, #67, officers found Dennis Vaughan Jr., who was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

At the time of his death, he was in the home with several other family members.

Based on an autopsy and subsequent testing and analysis, it was determined that his cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head and neck.

The investigation remains ongoing and additional information will be released as it becomes available, while protecting the integrity of the investigation. Anyone with any information is encouraged to contact Trooper Stephen McAulay of the New Hampshire State Police at 603-628-8477.
