DOVER - Donald J Fichtner, 80, of Dover, died at Frisbie Memorial Hospital on November 5th due to complications from a heart attack.

Don was born in Troy, N.Y., on 12/13/1940 and was the oldest son of Robert and Edith (Gummer) Fichtner.

He was a very dedicated employee at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) for over 30 years.

After retiring he relocated to NH to be closer to family.

He enjoyed traveling, bowling, taking walks, fishing, playing bingo, and watching the Red Sox. He volunteered at Wentworth Douglass hospital for many years.

Don's family would like to thank the Wentworth Home for their loving care for the past 17 years.

Don leaves behind his nieces, Wendy Fichtner of Burlington, VT and Cathy Garland and her husband Wayne of New Durham, along with four grandchildren, Alex, Nia, Cole, Adam, an aunt and many cousins.
