ROCHESTER - Dorothy (Dot) P. (Chalifour) Descoteaux, 83, of Watercress Drive, died Sunday, June 12, 2016, after a brief illness in Rochester, N.H. She was born February 7, 1933, in Manchester, N.H., to Laurent and Cecile (Gelinas) Chalifour. She lived in the Dover - Rochester area since 1973. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Rochester.
Dot graduated from Villa Augustina in 1951 and Notre Dame de Lourdes Hospital in Manchester in 1954 where she was employed as a Charge Nurse for several years before working in the office of Dr. LeClerc. She worked for the City of Dover before retirement.
She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Robert O. Descoteaux, a sister Fern Descoteaux of Manchester and a brother Andre Chalifour, of Deland, Fla. Family members include her four daughters, Lise Zanghetti and husband Mark, of Groton, Conn., Monique Pierce and husband Rick, of Monroe, Conn., Nicole Pierce of Fairfax, Va., and Celeste Descoteaux and husband Michael Welch of Ashburn, Va.; a brother, Gerald Chalifour, of Manchester; eight grandchildren; Christopher Pierce, Robert Yeaton, Nicholas Pierce, Jessica Yeaton, Stephen Pierce, Melanie Pierce, Joseph Welch and Sarah Welch; and four great grandchildren: Brianna Yeaton, Jason Pierce, Elijah Pierce and Jonathan Pierce.
