Dover fugitive caught up with at Rochester apartment

ROCHESTER - A fugitive wanted by Dover Police in connection with a Saturday shooting in the Garrison City was arrested by lawmen Monday night in Rochester.

Jeremy S. Jackson, 24, transient, was arrested around 6:20 p.m. without incident in an apartment building at 17 Norway Plains Road.

The shooting occurred about 11 a.m. on Saturday when witnesses said Jackson was involved in an argument with another man outside a residence on George Street in Dover and pointed a handgun at him. After the man ran away from Jackson, Jackson fired a shot into the residence and then fled, police said. No one was injured in the shooting.

Jackson is charged with criminal threatening, reckless conduct and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Jackson refused bail servies and is being held at the Strafford County Jail pending an arraignment Wednesday in Dover District Court.
