DOVER - A Dover man has been accused of threatening his roommate with a handgun during an incident Wednesday night at his residence in the Polly Ann Trailer Park in Dover.
The incident unfolded around 10:50 p.m. when officers responded to 11 Polly Ann Trailer Park for a reported disturbance. Upon arrival, officers spoke with a roommate of the defendant, who reported being threatened with a firearm by Kevin Bourre, 52, inside his residence.
While officers were speaking with the victim on scene, Bourre exited his residence and discharged a handgun in an unknown direction before immediately retreating back inside the home, according to a release from Dover Police sent today.
Due to the nature of the incident, a shelter-in-place order was issued for the immediate area, and the Strafford County Regional Tactical Operations Unit responded to assist with taking Bourre into custody. Around 1:30 a.m. Bourre exited his residence and surrendered to officers.
Once the defendant was in custody, detectives from the Dover Police Department's Special Investigations Unit executed a search warrant at Bourre's residence to recover evidence related to the incident.
Bourre has been charged with Criminal Threatening with a Deadly Weapon and Reckless Conduct, both felony offenses. He declined the services of a bail commissioner and is being held at the Strafford County House of Corrections pending his arraignment today in Dover District Court.
