Dover man arrested in Rochester for alleged burglaries in the Garrison City

DOVER - A Dover man was arrested today for allegedly burglarizing several downtown businesses earlier this month.

Stephen Hines, 52, was taken into custody at the Rochester Police Department today around 10:45 a.m. and charged with burglary based on a Dover warrant.

Dover Chief William Breault said today that the arrests followed several burglaries in and around 251 Central Ave. in which multiple businesses were entered and cash was stolen either the night of July 15 or the early morning hours of July 16.

After analyzing evidence gathered by the Dover Police Crime Scene Unit, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Hines.

After his arrest today Hines refused the services of a bail commissioner. He will be held at Strafford County Jail pending his arraignment in Strafford County Superior Court on Thursday.
