DOVER - A Dover man has been arrested for failing to register as a sex offender.

Edward Coleman, 43, of 9 Floral Avenue, was charged with failing to comply with sex offender registration laws.

Coleman was convicted of aggravated felonious sexual assault and felonious sexual assault in Strafford County Superior Court in 2012. As a result of his convictions, Coleman is required to register as a sex offender, which includes providing employment information to the police department having jurisdiction where he is residing.

Dover Police Department detectives began an investigation on Jan. 30 after receiving information that Coleman was working at a job he had not previously reported to the police department.

As a result of the investigation, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Coleman charging him with a Class B felony for failing to comply with RSA 651-B:9 "Change of Registration, Duty to Inform."

The United States Marshals' Joint Fugitive Task Force located and arrested Coleman at a residence on Upper Factory Road. He was held on $10,000 cash bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in the Strafford County Superior Court on Monday.
