Dover man's death thought to be drug related, would be city's 17th this year

DOVER - Dover Police are investigating the Wednesday death of a Dover man that appears to be drug related.

Peter Smith, 47, of 10 Avon Ave., was found dead when police responded to his home around 7:20 a.m.

While the cause of death will officially be determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, based on the investigation to date, Smith's death appears to be drug related.

If it is, it will be the 17th in Dover in 2020. The city had nine suspected drug related deaths in 2019.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Dover Police Department at 603-742-4646. Anonymous tips may be called into the Dover Crimeline at 603-749-6000. The Dover Crimeline can also be contacted via www.dovernhcrimeline.org.
