DOVER - A Dover man was arrested on Wednesday for failing to register as a sex offender, a Class B felony.

Brandon Pinard, 25, of 524 Marthas Way, was taken into custody at his residence and later released on personal recognizance bail.

Pinard's obligation to register as a sex offender stems from his 2013 conviction in the Newburyport, Mass., district court for indecent assault and battery on a child.

After Pinard failed to conduct his quarterly registration requirements, Dover Police detectives obtained a warrant for his arrest.

He is scheduled to be arraigned in Strafford County Superior Court next Thursday
