STRAFFORD - Downed trees into buildings and multiple injuries were reported in the Bow Lake area during Saturday night's severe thunderstorms.

Mutual aid was summoned and a mass casualty event was noted on northeastfirealerts.net around 6:15 p.m.

At the time high winds and severe thunderstorms were pummeling the area.

Most of the extensive damage was reported on Fire Lane 32 with a tree into a building and "multiple injuries."

Much of Fire Road near Bow Lake was shut down with downed power lines and trees making it unsafe for travel.

Flood advisories were in effect for much of the region.

At one point Saturday evening almost 800 Strafford households were without power, but today that number was down to just 33.

Crews from Strafford Fire and Rescue are expected to back out today continuing with the cleanup.

The injury report was not able to be corroborated by local safety officials as none were immediately available this morning.

This story will be updated.
