DOVER - A contractor will be removing the slate roof of the Dover Baptist Church at 151 Washington St. on Tuesday between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. The weather contingency date is Wednesday. To ensure the project can be done safely, a single-day closure of Fayette Street to both pedestrian and automobile traffic is necessary.

Fayette Street is the primary means of access for the Dover Post Office, for Poah Communities' Riverview Apartments, and for the Dover Housing Authority's Waldron Towers Apartments. While Fayette Street is closed, Green Street will shift to a two-way traffic pattern to accommodate residents and USPS customers.

To allow for two-way traffic flow, on-street parking on the southeast side of Green Street will be prohibited. Parking will only be allowed on the northwest side. On-street parking will also be prohibited for the day on Fayette Street.

The traffic setup will be coordinated using temporary signs and barricades.

COAST Route 33 transit buses serving the Waldron Towers will not be able to use Green Street due to the limited turning radius through the Post Office lot. COAST riders of Route 33 inbound should check with COAST at https://coastbus.org or call (603) 743-5777 for an alternate pickup location.

Questions about traffic implications may be directed to Dover Police Lt. Marn Speidel at (603) 742-4646.
