Dr. Robert A. Rubino, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at the Saint Ann Nursing Facility in Dover, New Hampshire. He was born in Rumford, Maine on September 11, 1932, to the late John and Albina (Rumazza) Rubino.
Robert attended St. Anastasia grammar school and Stephens High School in Rumford and graduating in 1950. He then attended college of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA and graduated in 1954. Furthering his education, he attended Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA with a graduation in 1958.
From 1958 - 1961 Dr. Bob served in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Wiesbaden, Germany at the U.S.A.F.E. Headquarters. While in Germany he participated in numerous musical reviews to raise money for German Orphanages.
Returning to the U.S., he opened his office for the practice of dentistry in Rochester, NH in January of 1962.
He retired from Dentistry in 1997 after 35 years. He then worked at Frisbie Memorial Hospital as a Dietary Aide in the Food Service Department for 6 years. While at Frisbie he founded the Lights of Love Chorus with the help of Jane Cooper Fall. He was also a communicant at St. Mary Church in Rochester, NH where he was the director of St. Mary Choir for many years.
Dr. Bob loved to cook. He hosted many dinner parties for family and friends. He especially enjoyed making homemade pasta and ravioli.
Robert was a member of the American Dental Society, NH Dental Society, New England Dental Society, PS, Omega Dental Fraternity and Elks Lodge #1393 in Rochester.
He was pre-deceased by his brother, Lt. Col. John A Rubino Jr.and his wife Dorothy of Springfield, VA, his sister Louise R. (Rubino) Robert and her husband Dr. Roger Robert of Saco, Maine.
Bob is survived by Cousin Jean Anne (Rumazza) Twombly and her husband Lt.Col James E. Twombly and Janet (Rumazza) Wilkins; Jennifer (Twombly) Landry; special neighbors Frank and Amie Familgetti for their devotion to Bob, and many nieces and nephews and their children.
