Drug charges also carry up to a $700,000 fine

DOVER - A Rochester woman is facing a life sentence in state prison after her indictment on heroin trafficking charges.

Tracy Borrelli, 37, of 17 Winter St., is also charged with possession of fentanyl, a synthetic opioid 30 times more powerful and far more deadly than heroin.

Court records indicate that on Sept. 1 of 2015 Borrelli was in Rochester when she allegedly possessed three individual bags containing over five grams of what she believed to be heroin and furthermore she was previously convicted of a felony in May 2006 in Milford District Court.

She also allegedly had less than an ounce of fentanyl on her as well.

The trafficking of heroin charge carries a life sentence and $500,000 fine, while the fentanyl possession carries a maximum 15-year sentence and $200,000 fine.

The Strafford County grand jury indictments were handed down Aug. 18 and released last week.

An indictment is not an indication of guilt, only that enough evidence has been presented to warrant moving forward to trial.
