Durham cases help fuel county's high virus numbers

CONCORD - State DHHS officials announced 697 new positive test results for COVID-19 on Friday, including 75 minors and 153 seventy-one individuals under the age of 18 and 153 from Strafford County, the highest single day spike the county has seen thus far during the pandemic.

Local current case numbers show Dover continuing as the Strafford County hot spot with 155, followed by Durham, which has seen a virus resurgence, at 115, and Rochester at 100. Other local communities include Somersworth at 46, Barrington at 38, Strafford at 22, Farmington at 43 and Milton at 10.

DHHS also announced nine additional deaths related to COVID-19, all Granite Staters over 60.

There are currently 273 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19.
