ROCHESTER - Edmond "Sonny" E. Turgeon, 91, died on Monday, January 22, 2018 in Bradenton, Fla., due to complications from a stroke he suffered in September of 2017. He was born November 22, 1926, in Dover, New Hampshire, the son of Hector and Anna (LaPointe) Turgeon. He was the last survivor of 17 brothers and sisters.
Sonny graduated from Dover High School, class of 1944. Following graduation, he enlisted in the Navy and served in World War II, as a machinist. He returned home to marry Priscilla (Boulanger) Turgeon, settling in Rochester, New Hampshire, where they raised three children. He worked for General Electric in Somersworth and retired after 35-years employed.
After 16 years of Priscilla passing, he married Lorraine (Rainville) Turgeon, they enjoyed their summers in Rochester, and winters in sunny, St Petersburg, Fla. Sonny was a loyal member of the American Legion and the Elks. He practiced his faith at the Holy Rosary Church in Rochester. He loved to dance, golf, play horseshoes, was a great cook, enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially discussing baseball and football with his son, Larry, and enjoyed a cold Miller High Life on occasion.
