GONIC - Edward F. Crowley, 73, died after a long illness on Tuesday, November 7, 2017, with his family by his side. He was born May 13, 1944, the son of Marion J. Hurd and Francis Crowley.
"Eddie" lived in Gonic since 1967 after moving from Dover. He retired from the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in 1999 after 20 years of service as Shop 71 foreman. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge 1393 and was a "Friend of Bill".
Eddie also enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on cars and small engines and spending time at his camps on Pine River Pond. He enjoyed traveling and was an avid Patriots and Red Sox fan. He especially looked forward to his annual hunting trip to Pennsylvania.
Members of his family include his wife of 53 years, Carol (Barton) Crowley of Gonic; his son Sam Crowley and his wife Lisa of Dover; Frank Crowley and his fiancé Kim Burnette of New Durham; his daughter Terry Crowley Lizotte and her fiancé John Christie of Sanbornville. He is also survived by six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his sister Sandra Montgomery of Wakefield, N.H., and close family friends Sam and Mildred Hayes of New Durham.
