Elderly Mass. canoeist feared drowned in Auburn lake

AUBURN - New Hampshire State Police and the Marine Patrol are expected to continue their search for an elderly Massachusetts man feared drowned in Lake Massabesic.

Safety officials first learned that Joseph Moreau, 83, of Methuen had gone missing off his canoe on Friday.

Moreau had launched the canoe by himself Clair's Landing.

Auburn Police and Fire, N.H. Fish and Game, Auburn Watershed Police, N.H. State Police Troop A and Marine Patrol responded. Joseph's son provided the attached photo and name of the missing person.
