ROCHESTER - An elderly Rochester woman was injured on Monday when her car crashed into a stonewall at the intersection of Nashoba Drive and Farmington Road.

Police got the call around 12:45 p.m. and found her vehicle, a 2003 Chevrolet Impala, with extensive damage near the entrance to Cocheco River Estates.

Jean Ames, 80, of Rochester, was apparently trying to turn left from Farmington Road onto Nashoba Drive when her vehicle crashed, police said.

Alcohol has been ruled out as a factor in the crash, but police are still investigating the cause.

Ames was transported by Frisbie Memorial EMS with what were described as nonlife-threatening injuries.
