Elderly Strafford County man among eight new deaths related to COVID

CONCORD - DHHS announced on Friday that a Strafford County man was among eight more Granite Staters who have died related to the virus, bringing to 552 the total number of deaths statewide since the pandemic began in March.

In all DHHS announced 782 new positive test results for COVID-19, for a daily PCR test positivity rate of 4.3 percent. The newly identified cases include some identified throughout the week since Monday.

Local current case numbers show, Rochester still the county hot spot with 69, Dover with 66, Somersworth with 37, Barrington at 13, Farmington and Strafford at six and Milton at nine.

Of the results reported on Friday with complete information, there are 96 minors and 52 from Strafford County.

There are currently 159 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19.
