ROCHESTER - Emmanuel Labrie was born in Amesbury, Mass., Emanuel Labrie and Pauline Rita (Soucy) Labrie on March 19, 1961.

He was a graduate of Whittier Vocational Technical High School in Haverhill, Mass, where he became a skilled electrician. He continued his electrical education to later become a master electrician. He worked for various companies in Massachusetts and New Hampshire as well as owning his own business prior to his many years spent working at Seabrook Station in Seabrook.

Manny, as he was known by friends and family, spent his life energetically exploring the seacoast area he grew up in. He spent most of his childhood in Amesbury, but loved fishing trips to Portsmouth with his family. He continued that tradition with his own children exploring the waters in Portsmouth, Rye, and Ayers Lake in Barrington. He had an inquisitive mind, which at times would lead to mischief in the form of wandering off on his bike to explore on his own as a child. His love for exploration aided in his development of self-taught navigational skills that impressed his family every time they went boating together at the ocean. When Manny wasn't fishing or exploring, you could find him tinkering in his back yard rebuilding or repairing cars, motorcycles or other small engines. His son loved to watch and learn alongside him. He also enjoyed spending time teaching his son how to ride motorcycles and four wheelers, as well as time spent at Blue Angels air shows.

Manny always enjoyed cooking and had a great sense of humor. He was a prankster that enjoyed playing tricks on family and friends, all in good fun. His goal was to keep people laughing and smiling. He was down to earth, had a huge heart, and was always kind and generous. He would give you the shirt off his back. Manny had a beloved English bulldog for many years named Cookie. He loved football, particularly the New England Patriots. He played football and wrestled in high school. He was very close with his step brother Butch, whom he considered his real brother. They spoke almost every day by phone and enjoyed visits in Amesbury when they had the opportunity to get together. Some of his most treasured moments included Sunday lunches with his daughter, Valerie. He also enjoyed bonding with her by passing on his vast knowledge of electrical and plumbing to assist her in making repairs and upgrades to her home.

He is predeceased by his father Emanuel Labrie and his mother Pauline Rita (Soucy) Labrie, as well as a nephew Daren Gagne, all of Amesbury.

He is survived by his ex-wife and mother of his children Laureen Labrie, a son Emanuel Labrie, a daughter Valerie Labrie, a granddaughter Skyler Labrie, all of Rochester, a brother Francis (Butch) Therrien of Amesbury, a sister Theresa Drouin of Amesbury, and a sister Arlene Gagne of Haverhill, Mass., as well as several nieces and nephews.
