ROCHESTER - Esther Fortin, 97, of Rochester, NH passed away peacefully on April 7, 2026

Esther lived a life centered on kindness, generosity and service to others. She was known by all who met her as someone who was always willing to help, offering her time and talent, and compassion without hesitation. For decades she was a devoted member of the Salvation Army, where she made a lasting impact through her volunteer work.

Esther lovingly created decorations and handmade gifts for hospital patients, children and community craft fairs bringing joy and comfort to countless people over the years. Her creativity and giving spirit touched many lives and will be remembered fondly. She is survived by a son David Fortin and partner Diane of Rochester, NH, and her daughter Mary Dubois and husband Paul from Venice Florida.

Esther was preceded in death by her husband Chester Fortin, her daughter Shirley Earle and her son John Fortin. In addition to her children, she is survived by many cherished grandchildren, great grandchildren and great- great- grandchildren.

Her legacy of kindness, service and love for others will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
