ROCHESTER - Eugene Henderson, 88, passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Birch Healthcare Center, following a period of declining health.

Born on December 23, 1937, in Rochester, NH, Eugene was the son of the late Stanley and Lucy (Gray) Henderson.

Eugene worked for many years as a foreman at Davidson Rubber. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots and was a longtime member of the Rochester Elks Lodge #1393. He enjoyed NASCAR racing and had a lifelong love of horses.

Eugene also had a passion for cooking and was proud to be part of several family-run local restaurants, including David's Take Out and the Melrose Restaurant both in Rochester, NH along with Geno's at York Beach, Maine. He served the City of Rochester as a City Councilman and was dedicated to his community.

He is survived by his children: David Henderson and his wife Brenda of California; Tammy St. Pierre and her husband Marc of Farmington, NH; Stanley Henderson and his wife Pam of Florida; Elizabeth "Betty" Richardson and her husband Mark of Barrington, NH; Bonnie Lepine and her husband Rick of North Carolina; and Kenneth Henderson and his wife Kristen of Farmington, NH. He is also survived by twenty grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren; his brothers James and Timothy Henderson, both of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.

Eugene was predeceased by his beloved wife of 69 years, Hazel Henderson, on December 24, 2025; his son, Mark Henderson; his daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Mike Mayo; and his brothers, Arthur and John Henderson.
