BARRINGTON - Eugene Richard Landry, 82, of Greenhill Road, died on Monday, August 13, 2018 at Hyder House after a period of failing health. He was born on December 31, 1935 in Rochester, the son of James W. and Barbara (Walker) Landry.
Gene enjoyed spending time in his garden, watching New England sports and NASCAR, spending time with his family, coffee time with his friends in his garage and his retirement years in Bradenton, Florida.
Gene was also one of the founding fathers of the Barrington Youth Association.
Gene attended Spaulding High School and served in the Air Force. After the Air Force he opened Landry's Garage and Foreign Auto Salvage in Gonic.
Gene is survived by spouse of 62 years, Doris (Alty) Landry; seven children, Kelly and her husband Brian of Barrington, Kim and her fiancé Ed Torosian of Nottingham, Eugene Landry Jr. and his wife Mindy of Knoxville, Tenn., Korey Hodgins and her husband Kevin of Rifle, Colo., Kris Paradis and her husband Luke of Dover, Kasey Filion and her husband Scott of Loudon and Karilann Sneirson and her husband Scott of Barrington; siblings James Landry Jr. of Barrington and Shirley Gilmore of Strafford; brother-in-laws James Alty, Charles Alty, Joe Alty all of Dover and Roger Alty of Bradenton, Fla.; 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.

He was predeceased by his sisters Evelyn Therrien, Cynthia Cantwell and brothers Everett Landry and Ronald Landry.
