ROCHESTER - Eupraxia Patricia "Pat" Stamnas, 89, of Rochester, died peacefully at home on Saturday, March 17, 2018. Pat was born June 27, 1928 in Newburyport, Mass., the daughter of Evangelos and Philomenia (Triandifilou) Fotinopoulos and has resided in this area most of her life.
Pat was a lifelong member of the Greek Orthodox Church in Dover and spent decades as the choir director. She loved to sing in the choir on Sunday and did so until her recent illness. Pat enjoyed watching all sports, playing cards and bingo and always looked forward to family celebrations, especially when there was lobster involved. Pat was a member of the Alkistis Society, Daughters of Penelope and Lioness Club and participated in AHEPA and Lions Club civic organization events with her husband Gus, which enriched their lives with many good memories and lifelong friendships. She will be missed by those she touched during her long life.
Members of her family include her children, Virginia Stevenson and her husband, Thomas of Alton, Christos Stamnas and his wife, Nancy of Bristol, Peter Stamnas and his wife, Wendy of Windham and Philip Stamnas and his wife, Lisa Stamnas of Rochester; five grandchildren, Evan Tsoukalas and Melissa Foley of Arizona, Arianna Vasquez and her husband, Juan (Johnnie), Carolann Stamnas and her husband, Dana Tellier, Christos Stamnas and Alexandra Stamnas; and one great-grandson, Malcolm Tellier.
She was predeceased by her husband, Costas "Gus" Stamnas in 2014.
